Fable 2: Preview

Fable 2 takes place in the already familiar Albion. Only this time under our control is not a hero with a burning gaze, but an ordinary highwayman who grew up without parents, in poverty. But still a full life with characteristic problems: love, housing, money (you will have to spend it not only on new armor and weapons, but also on supporting your own family), social status. The latter, by the way, will be influenced by absolutely all the character’s actions, including those without witnesses. A thief, regardless of whether he has been caught in his slippery occupation at least once or not, will not meet with a warm welcome from strangers and, on the contrary, will become part of the camp of robbers.

But that’s not why we came to the Fable 2 universe? This means that sooner or later our alter ego will kiss family members and go in search of adventure. Of course, from time to time it won’t hurt to visit your home, and at the same time admire your growing son: he will develop in your image and likeness.

The number of creatures close to the hero will also expand due to the dog – in Fable 2 the character will be accompanied by a devoted dog. The beast has a very practical significance: it scouts the road, senses enemies a mile away, and in difficult times it will grab onto the attacker. He will do this not anyhow, but with a spark of common sense: if you control an archer, the pet will turn its aggression on the enemy with a sword and vice versa. There is practically no care for the little animal: treat it as needed, and scratch behind the ear at a rest stop. By the way, like a child, a dog both in appearance and in character reflects the qualities of its owner: an evil berserker’s puppy will grow up to be a huge shaggy beast with a terrifying grin, and a peaceful healer’s puppy will grow up to be an affectionate house dog.

Gamers will have to travel through the Fable 2 universe without such a familiar element as a mini-map. Every sneeze, every thoughtless act can turn into a disaster, or, on the contrary, into a universal blessing. The plot development is almost unpredictable: it depends on too many factors, which means Fable 2 has inexhaustible replay value. The graphics, although they don’t cause crazy delight, look quite decent – so no mistakes are expected in this regard either.
